	<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><strong><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 16pt; vertical-align: baseline;">New to Star Wars Galaxies? Here are some things you should know!</span></strong></span>
</p>

<p dir="ltr">
	<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">SWG is not the most new-player-friendly or intuitive game you’ve ever played, but the rewards are great if you take the time to learn what it has to offer.  The single most important thing you can remember is – ask questions! We’re all here because we love the game and we are happy to help clarify or simplify! </span></span>
</p>

<p dir="ltr">
	<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><strong><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Character creation:</span></strong></span>
</p>

<ul>
<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Different species have different benefits and drawbacks.  You can get a little bit of an idea <a href="https://www.swgemu.com/archive/scrapbookv51/data/20071216103635/guides_072.html" rel="external nofollow">here</a>. Keep in mind that on Tarkin, buffs are not as robust, so managing your stats is key. </span></span>
		</p>
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Don’t worry too much about character appearance customization in the creation window – many more options are available after you pick up Image Designer and /imagedesign your own character. You can also adjust your base stats at any time with Image Designer, so it is a smart thing to train and costs 0 skill points!</span></span>
		</p>
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Picking a starting class – this is not set in stone, but if you have an idea of what you’d like to do, it’s a good time to grab it. The game automatically gives some items to you based on what you’ve picked. Marksman/Brawler gets starter weapons, Artisan some survey &amp; crafting tools, Entertainer just gets the most ridiculous looking pants imaginable. Scout or Medic don’t have anything exciting on them at the start.  </span></span>
		</p>
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">You can train multiple starting classes and/or drop them as needed, just look for the Marksman, Artisan, Medic, Scout, Brawler &amp; Entertainer trainers – usually near the Starport, Cantina or Medical Center. It only costs 100cr to train these starting boxes. I usually pick up a combat class (brawler/marksman), scout and medic to start, no matter what. The ability to heal a bit more with “Stim Bs” as a medic is nice, and you may as well have the ability to harvest meat/bone/hide while you level. You can surrender skills at any time.</span></span>

			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">You can create a new character every hour. There are four characters allowed on Tarkin, three can be logged on simultaneously. Dual/triple logging requires a user.cfg file in your game directory with the following:</span></span>

Cash in the bank can be tipped to players (near or far) for a 10% fee.  The bank also has a safety deposit box into which you can place items. You must join the planetary bank to access this function and you can only retrieve your items from the terminals on that planet.</span></span>

You should always repair at or before your item reaches ¼ of its total condition to keep from losing item stats.</span></span>

	<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">SWG has a complex and rewarding crafting system – many say it’s the best a game has ever had!  </span></span>

<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Doing Artisan missions from the terminals is a good way to pick up some extra starting cash without too much risk.</span></span>
		</p>
	</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">To find resources used to craft things you need the Novice Artisan skill and survey tools. You can usually find them for sale on the Bazaar in major cities, or you can ask an Artisan to make one for you.  There are a handful of resource types with tools to help locate the highest density – Mineral, Chemical, Gas, Flora, Solar, Water, and Wind.</span></span>
		</p>
	</li>
	<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">

			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">First use the survey tool to select which resource you'd like to find and click survey.  You will get a map of what percent of that resource is located around you. </li>
	<li dir="ltr" style="background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">
		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Once you find a pretty high % of a resource you can click Sample and you will take a sample of the resource. You can examine it in your inventory to check its stats.</span></span>

			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">You can collect any type of resource by hand in this fashion – though doing so with radioactive material will wound your character over time. Example: Use a Food and Chemical Crafting Tool while standing next to a Food and Chemical Crafting Station in order to experiment on a stimpack. </span></span>

			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">City crafting stations are considered “public” crafting stations and will not give you access to all the schematics at your disposal. Private crafting stations or droids with private crafting station modules will help you access all of your schematics.</span></span>

		<p dir="ltr">
			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">Artisans utilize Weapon, Droid and General crafting tools/stations and architects use Structure and Furniture. Medic/Doctor/Combat Medic/Chef/Smuggler/Bio Engineer utilize Food and Chemical to create medicine, food and spices.  Armorsmith and Tailor use Clothing and Armor tools/stations. Shipwrights use Starship crafting tools/stations.</span></span>

			<span style="color:#bdc3c7;"><span style="background-color: transparent; font-size: 11pt; vertical-align: baseline;">In addition to crafting by hand, if you are next to a private crafting station you can produce a manufacturing schematic and put it and the necessary items in a factory for mass production. Many items require identical sub-components from factory crates.</span></span>

<p>
	<strong><span style="font-size:36px;">Tarkin's Revenge Server Rules</span></strong>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">1) Be a decent human being.  That pretty much goes without saying.  We don't want to police player behavior, so just don't be a jerk.  Griefing, harassment, hate speech, training MOBs on other players, kill-stealing, and excessive spamming all fall under this rule.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">2) One account per player, and we're required to insist that each player has their own copy of the SWG discs.  Players who have another household member who also wants to play can be manually whitelisted by filing a support ticket using the support link at the top of the forums.  One player using multiple accounts is a bannable offense. (And yes, we check.)</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">3) Do not exploit bugs.  If you find something you suspect is a bug, file a support ticket using the support link at the top of the forums.  Exploiting bugs for gain is also a bannable offense.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">4) Do not create and delete characters for the purposes of generating credits for your main character(s).  We log this activity, and will ban players found to be abusing this.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">5) Do not use our server, discord, or forums to recruit for other servers.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">6) Do not use any third party software that alters the game in such a way as to provide a benefit other players do not have.  This will be considered an exploit.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">7) No fight clubbing, or intentionally allowing another player to kill you for any type of gain.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:16px;">8 ) Staff reserves the right to add to or clarify these rules in the future, should need arise.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<br><strong>Some things to note:</strong><br>
	You can manually change your password by clicking the register link at the top of the forums, logging in with your username and password, and going through the process there to change it.  You are responsible for your own account information.  Staff will not be responsible for anything that happens to your account if you share your information with someone who abuses it.  If you FORGET your password, contact an admin by filing a support ticket, and we can reset it for you.
</p>

<p>
	You get five characters on Tarkin's Revenge, 20 lots per character.
</p>

<p>
	Since solo grouping is no longer necessary to get higher level missions, individual XP rate has been raised to 2x and there is no bonus for grouping up.  You can if you like, but the mechanics of a solo group are no longer necessary for gameplay.
</p>

<p>
	Mayors of NPC cities are pretty much the rulers of their domains.  They decide if zoning is open or closed, they decide their own city layout, tax rates, specializations, and citybans.  If you disagree with their policy - run for mayor!  This office is open to any politician citizen who can get the votes. We will not be reviewing things like individual city bans, but if a mayor is significantly impacting gameplay of the community and/or perpetrating abuses upon the community, staff will reserve the right to remove the mayor.  See rule #1.<br>

	1.  Click the find button.
</p>

<p>
	2. Do not use this unless you want to be specifically someplace.
</p>

<p>
	3. From the Res Group, Res Type, or both select what you are looking for
</p>

<p>
	4. Be sure to check the Only Available box to see only what is... well available!
</p>

<p>
	5. Click on search, just above #2.

<p>
	Yes, you <em>can</em> grind Wilderness Survival XP away from the keyboard.
</p>

<p>
	1) Buy or otherwise acquire a shellfish harvesting tool.
</p>

<p>
	2) Put the shellfish harvesting tool in your toolbar.
</p>

<p>
	3) Go stand (not swim) in water, and use the following WildXP macro, adjusting the toolbar slot specified as appropriate:
</p>

<p>
	/ui action toolbarSlot00;<br />
	/pause 9;<br />
	/macro WildXP
</p>

<p>
	You will gather both wilderness XP and a bunch of mollusk and crustacean meat as a result.

<p>
	First, you'll want to go to the top of our forums which should look like the picture below.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="6507d58d9454193987cf293464952d3d.jpg" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="43.86" height="438" width="1000" src="https://i.gyazo.com/6507d58d9454193987cf293464952d3d.jpg"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Then you will need to click on  the "Launcher" link which will download a zip of the launcher. Due to how new the launcher most browsers may prompt you with a warning that looks like this.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="37ac0de71d10e054f3e538085514be73.png" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="13.98" height="52" width="372" src="https://i.gyazo.com/37ac0de71d10e054f3e538085514be73.png"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	To keep the launcher you will need to do the following.
</p>

<p>
	Click the ^ and click keep, you'll now find it in your downloads folder.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="fe62924f40a43a49b1e5f82b9e50677c.gif" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="29.95" height="112" width="374" src="https://i.gyazo.com/fe62924f40a43a49b1e5f82b9e50677c.gif"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After this, you will need navigate to your downloads folder and you will be presented with a file named "tarkinlauncher.zip", I moved this to a folder I created specifically for Tarkin, you can name this whatever you like. For this I named it "Demo Install"
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="6bfe7f511174af0a222e640a849dd98c.gif" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="91.46" height="600" width="656" src="https://i.gyazo.com/6bfe7f511174af0a222e640a849dd98c.gif"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After you've extracted it you should see a file named "tarkin's Revenge Launcher" double click that and you will be presented with this pop up. Use this to select the folder you created specifically for Tarkin.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="0fdaca36e3ffa548948f9845b3913361.gif" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="116.74" height="516" width="442" src="https://i.gyazo.com/0fdaca36e3ffa548948f9845b3913361.gif"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Once you've done that, you'll see the following screen. Once you do, just hit the update button as instructed in the status bar on the bottom and it will update and pull down the files for you.
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="a07af459a9a69faa5d2b846ad80d0e77.gif" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="72.80" height="546" width="750" src="https://i.gyazo.com/a07af459a9a69faa5d2b846ad80d0e77.gif"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Once it has done the download, it will prompt you to edit your settings first to ensure you've setup your screen resolution as it needs to be updated for the first time you launch the game, it will look like this.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="2dd3fba6cfe1c9a18aa04d9254ab85db.png" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="76.87" height="545" width="709" src="https://i.gyazo.com/2dd3fba6cfe1c9a18aa04d9254ab85db.png"></p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Click the Settings Button and configure your game settings, or just click the settings button at the top and click  the Game Settings option to pop up the swgemu_setup
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<img alt="3558be45e5facc55e6d9bd264f0e1dd1.gif" class="ipsImage" data-ratio="75.54" height="562" width="744" src="https://i.gyazo.com/3558be45e5facc55e6d9bd264f0e1dd1.gif"></p>

<p dir="ltr">
	<span style="color:#f39c12;"><b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:26pt;vertical-align:baseline;">Tarkin’s Revenge FAQ and Info</span></b></span>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;">Below, we’ve compiled some of the most relevant information for new players to our server: account info, XP rates, Jedi information and some other important notes about cities and guilds.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Are my forum and game accounts the same?</span><br />
	A: No, they are two separate accounts.  We would have liked to keep them together, but the integration systems we had available exposed user passwords as plaintext which was untenable for us. So the two types of accounts are separate and our users' data is secure.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. How many characters can I have?</span><br />
	A: 4 characters per account, one character per hour. Attempting to create or delete a character resets the timer. All characters have 20 lots. 3 characters can be logged in at the same time.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. What if my husband/wife/child/housemate/dog wants to play?</span><br />
	A:  It’s a no to the dog, but if you have someone else living in the same house who also wants to play on Tarkin’s Revenge, they may request permission for a dual account household via the Support link on our forums.  We will need to know both of the account names in your support ticket.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. What are the XP rates?</span><br />
	A:. 2x XP Solo | 2x XP Grouped, you are no longer enslaved to a solo group to get good XP.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Do I still need solo groups to get good missions?</span><br />
	A: No, Lia has made a system that allows you to adjust the CL of available missions so you don’t have to do any skill box dropping or pulling a million AT-ST’s just to get rancors or low level mobs for rangers.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. What did you do to my buffs?!?!?</span><br />
	A: We have GREATLY decreased buffs, so you will need to stay on top of stat migration, use foods/drinks, and look for armor with low encumbrance and weapons with low HAM cost.<br />
	If your secondary stats are below the 'magic number' of 1500, you WILL do damage to yourself when using special attacks with your weapon.<br />
	Buffs are available via doctors (though 'C' and 'D' buffs have been disabled, and Janta bloods have been greatly reduced), and are also available from Medical Services terminals.  Doctor buffs last much longer, and can be crafted better than the terminals provide.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Do I have to grind my crafter again?</span><br />
	A: No, all crafting professions are no-grind and can be found from a skill trainer NPC.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Why can’t my BH/Pistoleer pop lock 2?</span><br />
	A: He can! Entertainer professions are no-grind, are available from a Skill Trainer NPC, and do NOT require skill points.  Everyone can pick up the Entertainer professions (including Image Designer) for free.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. How long are Village Phases?</span><br />
	A: 4 week phases, you can find more information about Jedi in our thread <a href="https://tarkinswg.com/index.php?/topic/16-jedi/" rel="">here</a>.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. What changes have you made to Jedi?</span><br />
	A: Visibility required to get on the terminals has been greatly decreased.  Other Jedi do not generate visibility, but non-Jedi players and NPCs do. Additionally, Saber Block is ineffective while knocked down, and likelihood of saber blocking has been reduced by 50% while intimidated.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Why can’t I get a heavy harvester?</span><br />
	A:. Heavy harvesters are disabled, but Smalls and Mediums have greatly increased BER and hopper size, and the benefit of a smaller footprint.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. Where do I live now?</span><br />
	A: You can put your house in NPC cities, if the mayor of the city has granted zoning/open zoning.  Currently, Mos Entha, Coronet, and Theed function as Player Cities.<br />
	To start a Player City, you must first master Politician by running for mayor of an NPC city.  Once mastered, you may request a City Hall on the forums. Additional NPC cities can also be opened for settlement if a master Politician has ten players willing to settle in their city.</span></b>
</p>

<p>
	<b><span style="background-color:transparent;font-size:11pt;vertical-align:baseline;"><span style="color:#f1c40f;">Q. How do I get a Guild Hall?</span><br />
	A: Guild Halls are not craftable, and are only available by request for players starting an active guild.  (They are not freely available as residences.) See our forums for more information.</span></b>
